For comparison.

My RX8 has 238hp and has a coefficient drag rating of .31. I was able to get it up to 150mph on the Texas Motor Speedway, and I doubt it would have gone anymore at all.

The Camry v6 has 268hp (280hp on premium) and has a coefficient drag of .30 (Lower is better). 162mph is right at about where the Camry should be drag limited with the amount of power it makes stock.

Gene is making somewhere around 290hp* at the wheels (correct me if I am wrong) so I think it should be possible for him to hit 175mph.

*Around 340hp at the crank

Lucky you, you got one of the new gen RX8 with increased horse power? I like the new R3! Our Camry's don't make 280hp on premium...i whish they would.

HP and Cd are not enough to give reliable top speeds.

Drag coefficient varies with speed and frontal cross section area makes a big difference in comparing different vehicles.

Of course its not going to give completely accurate results, but its good enough to make an educated guess.

Increased horsepower? Not that I know of. All stock 6MT RX8s in the US are 238hp. Mine is a 2005 GT. The Automatics have less horsepower and a lower redline.

EDIT: I just checked Mazda's website, under the new stanards for power they list the RX8 with 232hp. The sticker that came with mine says 238hp, but since it is an '05, its under the old standard.

Ok, then maybe its your Camry that is making 290hp at the wheels?

I know I have read somewhere on here about someone with a Turbo i4 making 290hp at the wheels.
