Mine was like yours at the beginning, I ignored it and it eventually came off after touchless automatic car wash. I think you should be able to buy some thin double sided tape and put it in the area that came off. Be careful not to touch the tape sticky area with your finger.

Actually Door Edge Guards protect you from dinging your own door. That isn't the true purpose of BSM which again---IMO---do absolutely nothing to protect you from dings. I prefer my car without them as I feel it looks much better.

Are you talking about those white guards that come with new cars? Yes they can protect better. Still the side moldings are at the farthest out on the door and can protect you for example when you get out of the car at a gas station and you "ding" the damn cement post next to the pump. I do that ALL the time...

Must respectfully disagree.
Body moulding definitely help in not getting dings.
Some opening vehicle doors may miss the mouldings at times but the moulding will do it's job in most cases.

As far as door edge guards...
I don't need them and they're ugly..
I'm very careful when opening my door.

I agree I've had both, even together. With door edge guards (the full ones, bottom of window to lower sill) protects you from scratching your own door. BSM protect you from other vehicle doors and most shopping carts.

The mouldings would protect your car from dings from other car doors say in a mall parking lot. The side moulding would be alot cheaper to fix/replace than to fix up dings all over a door.

See, That's why I hate after-the-fact BSMs. They are never as good as factory. Even if you let the dealer do it. You never know how many times their trainee screwed up and had to re-stick it. The best BSM are the ones that has a slot specifically craved for it. I never found BSM ugly (think crown molding or door panels in home) but I refuse to add it after-the-fact.
