Gen5 High Idle

I put new NGK plugs in yesterday and cleaned the throttle body. When I started everything back up, I have a high idle. When I started it up cold this morning it went to about 2000-2200 and then immediately dropped to about 1300. After I drove it to work for 30 miles (highway speed) and parked it was about 1100 with everything else turned off. Any ideas of what caused this, it was not doing it b4. I had thought about resetting the ECU to see if it would reset things. Do I have to disconnect the battery b/c some of the posts I have read said to just pull the EFI fuse to get the same results? Is this true for sure? If so, where do I find this fuse? Ideas anyone.......??

Gen5

I just came back from an unplanned trip to Greensboro, 4 hours, hard driving. It will idle about 1050-1100 with nothing on, and will drop to 1000-1050 with the a/c on. Is this the normal range? I always thought it idled about 750 with the a/c on, which I thought was a tad low.........anyone know the correct range.......btw it is a 4cyl........also now someone inform me about the EFI fuse or do I have to disconnect the battery.......could this week get any longer/worse???

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 minutes... when you reconnect it and start the car up, you should be idling at about 300 range for about 10 minutes before it gets back to normal.. thats how you know that the ECU is reset.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

A little update just FYI, I disconnected the negative battery cable (as suggested) and left it off for about 20 minutes, reinstalled it and then started the car up. Everything had reset..go figure...I did not have time to go any where last night, but after my 30 minute drive in to work today it would appear that everything is back to normal, it idles just fine !!

I dodged the Toyo service fees one more time !! Thanks all of you !!

Interesting.. Thanks. Is it a good idea to reset your ECU every once in a while? As part of trying to improve gas mileage I've read that you should try resetting your ECU - which is why I think I'll try it. My Camry is an ex-rental so it was driven by dozens of people with different driving styles.
