Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Yes you can. Just splice into the power wire and ground wire for the mirror. You probably won't draw enough amperage to worry about overloading the wiring. Just make sure to keep it clean so that you don't have a mess of wires on your hands.

Why? The power is all ready there for reading lights, mirror, etc.
I plan on hardwiring mine next week.
It was more of a question than a suggestion. Agreed the lights are not normally used but Im not sure about the draw on the detector thats all. I ran a seperate circuit and fuse for all of my additional electronics in the car. (gauges, detector etc etc) It came in handy, Im constantly adding things to that power and just up the fuse as I need to or down it as I take things off.
I did it to my 07' SE V6 as well. It was very easy but I just tapped off the fuse panel under the dash and ran a wire up the pillar then tucked up in the edge of the headliner. A super clear look and mine is just below the tinted area and on the edge of the dot matrix area in the center of the windshield. It is barely visable from the outside of the car (I was once a thief) and if I ever did get pulled over I can just pull my visor down and it is concealed.
Thanks guys for the replay, I'll take apart the light console an get power from there. I want to have the radar detector as high as possible, since It's a valentine and it needs clearence on the front and back.
Thanks again

This is what you should do.
More work but also more professional.

Sorry to bring back the dead, but I thought our only fuse box was in the engine bay? Where did everyone tap your power into? I need to get my Valentine up and running before next Friday.
This is how I installed mine, stick the radar right under the darker part of the windshield, so you can barely see it from outside and still works front and back. Run the wire in between the windshield and the headliner, inside the left A pillar molding, in between the dash and the A pillar, underneath the dash to the center console and connected to the power outlet next to the aux.
