Headrest monitors

In the next few months I'd like to put a monitor in the headrests so my 13 month old daughter can have some entertainment (no - I'm not trying to pimp out my ride). I like the clean looks of the monitors installed in the headrests as opposed to having some contraption hanging from the backseat with wires everywhere. Has anyone done this before? Any idea of what this will cost? I'd like to try a DIY project with this to save some $$$. Where could I purchase the equipment?

Toyota actually offer this as an installed option. For $1500, they will install individual dvd players/monitors (you drop the dvd into the headrest) in each headrest. Also, each dvd/monitor comes with individual wireless headphones.

I didn't know that - but price seems a bit steep for me. I'm going to the stealer tomorrow so I'll ask about the cost of the parts only.

It is kinda steep, but it's under warranty by them since it's a dealer installed option. Also, the install is really clean, no wires hanging anyway, the monitors fit perfectly in headrest, wireless headphones, etc.

It's actually a pretty comparable price if you look around. I mean being installed and all.

You can always try haggling them. Who knows, it may work and they might come down abit.
