I had the same issue occur last week Oct 03 2007. A/C light was flashing with no cold air. My camry is an 07 xle v6 with a July 2007 build date with only 710 miles on the Odometer. I took it to the dealership first thing in the morning and they gave me the car back 30 minutes later fixed. All they did was replace the MG CLT Relay.

Question 2004 Camry SE AC light blinking

This just started occurring on my wife's camry. Is the same relay replacement hold true for an 04'? Can anyone give a part number for this?
Please advise.

The 07 I cant help you with for now, but I will keep you posted.

The part number for 02 through 06 camry is TO90987-02028.

Keep in mind the need for this part was more than the vendor could handle, so these relays were on back order for most of the summer. Availability may be better now. Check it out at your local dealer. The part is cheap, $50 give or take $10 depending on your region.

Hope this helps. BTW this is a updated part number, so they have identified the problem with the old relay and fixed it. Make sure that you don't settle for the old part number.

USA it is the MG clutch relay

This same blinking light happen to me today and I changed the relay in the fuse box next to battery. It is a white relay. part number 90987-02022. went to dealer and charged me $64 for the part. they have changed the part to 90987-02028 now. I repalce it and worked like a charm. only regret was I could have bought the comparable relay at advance auto parts online for $14. Sucks.

Blinking AC Light

Happens on wifes 02 Camry when the "Cabin Filter" gets dirty. (behind Glove Box). It is very easy to get to and replace. Open Glove box. Empty Glove Box. Take out phillips screw on dampener connection on the right of box. Squeeze together sides of glove box, and lower portion of box, that hinges on bottom comes off. Filter is on inside firewall. Light on AC will not stop immediately but only after a few starts and restarts over a few days. Or you could have the light reset at a Autozone for free by having them loan you a tool. Or disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, and put back on. Then you would have to reset the radio stations, and may notice the car idle being reset for the first few starts. But it works. CABIN FILTER , bought at Kragens or Autozone for around $21.

Cabin filter will not cause the AC light to blink. The light blinks whenever there is an electrical or rotational malfunction with the compressor and or magnetic clutch assembly. The car doesn't know when the filter is dirty, it doesn't even know the filter is there.

sounds like it may be a loose wire, check the socket that plugs into the compressor

Relay Fixed it !!!! No flashing Light

Everyone was correct, even though I have a new Cabin Filter, and thought that was the only reason I would see the AC light flash, the Relay Fixed the problem.

Would have ordered the 16.99 one from Advance Autoparts, but they were OUT OF STOCK.

I did not want to spend, now >$70 at the dealer for this relay. And the junk yards had too many old cars.

I went to Autozone, where the had the Santech AC Relay. MT0610 for $27.99 with tax and FED EX Delivery to the store it was $30.30.

Plugged the thing in at Autozone, and the ride home was AC LIGHT FLASHING FREE.

This is an engineered replacement part from China.

THanks all for the great information!! 2002 Camry now fixed.

Exclamation

I had the same problem this week. Replaced the A/C Relay with "A/C Relay Fctry" from Advance Auto Parts for $14.

But it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

The A/C will go full blast for a while, but then the "green flashing death light" starts in again.

Did I get a bum part, or is there possibly some other problem?

(P.S. I already replaced the air filter).

Make sure you changed the correct Relay, and Check the Cabin Filter.

Look in owners manual for instructions.

Check the compressor clutch. When the light is flashing, what happens to the clutch? Does it stop or slow?

In an otherwise fine (but old) system, the cause may be low refrigerant. If you are sure it's low, then Walmart has a kit for about $12 with a hose. One big can with a gauge I think is about $30. But don't overcharge.
