From the VINs you posted, how does someone tell if their car is affected by the TSB?

If your VIN is earlier than those posted, then you are affected.

If anyone gets this done, let us know.

I'm going in for an oil change in a few weeks and will get this done.

BTW - the '*' in the VINs above should be '1'. At least for my VIN, the '1' is in place of the '*'

Do you have this harsh shifting problem?

I monitor all the forums and have yet to hear about it.

Hesitation - Yes, Gear Hunting - Yes, Cruise control problems - Yes.

I do have harsh shifting if I've driven the car for awhile in city driving (greater than 20 minutes or so). The upshifts seem to be fine, but the downshifting from 4 to 3, or 3 to 2 tend to be more harsh the more its driven. It's more annoying than an anything.

I had a 1994 Corolla before this and had no issues with the smoothness of that transmission, even after 169000 miles.

And yes, I DEFINITELY have the hesitation problem. I don't drive on highways much, so i can't comment on the Cruise Control issue

For those of you asking questions about the '*' in the VIN. It can be any digit. it's actually a check digit of some sort.

So, how do we read the vin. Is part of it going to be generic to all camry's?

We have different VINs in Canada (in terms of production #). Do you know what VINs are affected up here?

Does anyone have the link to the TSB?

The * symbol is just a sequence break, not a number.

Camry 07 downshifting problem

Same here :
Getting on to a highway - real smoth shifting

Comming up to a light , when I let go of the gas , I feel a sudden downshift , so the car doesn't come up to the light smoothly but suddenly slows down .

Are you taking your in ? I guess I will take mine in ..............................

Downshifting 07 Camry

I just noticed the details and just like you I don't think I'm in 5th gear and downshifting to 4 coming up to a light . It's more like downshifting from 4 to 3 but I think I will take it in anyway ... Hopefully they can fix it in one day . I'll call first .

Is there a reason why the '05 isn't included in this recall? My particular Camry is just fine downshifting 5-4 and 4-3. It has to downshift everytime I'm going up one particular hill on my drive.
