I need help. I have been swimming through websites all night looking at wheels. What we just bought is a Super White 07 Camry XLE. Just got the windows tinted today. Went to discount tire and talked with them about wheels. I was going to go with 20's, but really don't want to get the stiff ride. Did that route with my Honda Civic a few years back. I thought about going with 19's on 40 series tires, but 19 inch tires are rediculously priced. So now I am going to go with 18's and 40 or 45 series tires.
So here is my question...What would you buy? I am looking for advise for wheel and tire sizes. I am going to attempt to post a few pic's of the wheels I am looking at, but I have not been able to narrow down my search at all. By the way, I want chrome wheels whitout a center cap. I like the look of rims with lugs showing. Thanks...
TSW Mondello Chrome
Helo Chrome Tease
DPE R05 Variant S
I got 18" in my camry, with michelin pilot 235/45 18's, and I can't tell the difference in the ride at all.. Now on chossing the right wheel is up to you, all depends what you like. Here is a link to see the pictures when I just put the wheels and tires on http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...3bMmh_¬ag=1
Just make sure that you get forged wheels and not cast wheels, since the cast are heavier.
From what I read, it seems like you really want 19"s, but the only thing setting you back is the money issue. So why not wait awhile and get 19"s like you wanted. If you buy 18"s now, who knows, you might regret later on not saving up for 19"s.
Not worried about the money up front, but if I keep this car for a while it will need tires again and again. From what I have seen, 19 inch tires are usually more than 20 inch tires due to the odd size. Seems like everyone has 17,18,20,22,etc, but 19's are a little more rare. I want 20's, but don't want the stiff ride. This is the wife's car. We want a little more comfort than my Honda had.
Personally, out of those you listed I like the TSW Mondello.
Hey, have you checked out www.tirerack.com?
You can view many different rims on your 07 Camry.
Just select the 'Shop By Vehicle' option and choose your car.
Very nice interface...

I have had 2 different set of 18's, Konig Verdicts and Konig Unknowns. The Konig Verdict spokes went all the way out with no lip, so visually they looked like 18"+, the Konig Unknowns have a nice lip, but visually it makes the wheels look like 17". Something to consider. I currently have 225/40 18's (Yokohama Avid H4, the best out there in my opinion) on my 1999 Camry V6 LE. The only other set of rims I would consider are the AT Italia Inox in SS available on tirerack.com. Jon. p.s. out of those 3 though, I'd say the TSW for quality and looks.

I looked at Tirerack, but didn't see anything that stood out. Every rim looked like every other rim out there. I am leaning toward the Mondello also at this point.
Why not consider getting it in the gunmetal finish?
I had some Konig Caffine's on my Honda that were gunmetal finish. In my opinion, they just look dull after a while. My caffine's also flaked off the clear coat after about 3 months.

You are correct about the prices. I put 255/40-19" on my CaddySTS, and I regretted it the day I had to buy new tires. I didn't really factor in the additional cost with the first set of tires, but the new tires cost me $265 each, when the same model tire in 18" or 20" would have cost me under $200. So basically, I spent $65 x 8 = $520 more in the 3 years I owned that car.

I did the same thing last rims I had on my old truck. I mark it up to lessons learned.

Went with the 18" x 8" TSW Mondello's and Michelin Pilot 235/45/18 tires. They had to order them, so I won't get them until Friday. I will post a pic when I get them on.
