5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Just got my Camry XLE V6 today. It was such a pain in the butt to get Navi in that thing in Metallic Gray. I really want HID lights and have a buddy at a lexus dealership that can get me the lexus HID's. Anyone successful in installing these on the new gen style? Any issues I should watch out for?
-Stock wiring harness not designed for HID
-Stock lexus HID capsules do not physicially fit stock headlights
-Stock headlight optics were not designed for use with HID
Do you have a '07 Camry? If so, just stick with oem ballasts and philips bulbs and you'll be fine. The halogen projectors in the gen6 are suitable, but not the best, for aftermarket HIDs.

i will as the dealer pointed out in like about 2 months.
i am excited to do something to it, but i was trying to get as much info as possible when the car arrived. i am not in a rush to get it, i have already waited over 3 weeks. VSC is taking it forvevr to come.
i think i spoke ith you before, i was thinking about the 6000k for the low and fog. I stillhaven't had a chance to see what to do for the squirrel spotters. but would the fog lights handle the heat from the 6000k?
and if ur wondering, my order is black v6 07 se, with black leather, vsc/trac, moonroof, homelink, etc. the only thing i didn't want and specifically told em was the nav. i find a nav to be useless for me in the city. this special order will get here sometime in mid september, they said, but will not guarentee since i already downed. but there still isn't a track or number on the vehicle. i told em to take their time, until hopefully they change out the transmission with a newly manufactured one as someone had mentioned on the forum.
i don't expect the car until november or even later, but i am in no rush, but i had to order it early as some had mentioned. i hope november it will come.
but thanks for the responses. i will post pics when it comes in in november... or maybe earlier hoepfully...
well in regards to that.. no lexus has H11 projectors other than the NON-HID lexus IS 250.. all the rest come with D2S projectors so i doubt it will be able to fit in the H11 projectors. bettor off getting them elsewere for your specific car. trust me i just bought the projector sfrom the RX330 and am gonna retro them to put the D2S bulbs..
there is a guy on ebaymotors that sells D2S bulbs for any fitment... he can sell you the D2S bulbs that are made for H11's and the D2S kit with the connections of the H11.. look it up and check it out.

So did u put the HIDs in yet ... if not - please search my threads for HID install, as I have helped others install the " Lexus HIDS " (Phillips/Osram D2S 4300k Xenon Bulbs & Denso Slim Ballasts (IS300 Ballasts) THis is exactly what I used on my 07 XLE & my 98 ES300 - they looks great, look factory & light up the road very brightly!

If you do look up his other posts, please read further on and pay attention to my posts on how to correctly install an oem hid kit.

Yeah - make sure you get rid of those squirrel finders ... mine are all sealed up and I don't really feel like taking the bumper off again - so fuck it ... but you should ... I wish I knew about these stupid things before I did the install in March!
