Vehicle Skid Control

My Camry has Vehicle Skid Control and I want to know if that is the same as electronic stability control? ABC World News last night showed a new Camry with and without electronic stability control.

Yes, VSC is Toyota's acronym for ESC. You also have traction control and ABS.

It supposedly works well, but I personally couldn't even get it to step in while getting aggressive at the track. I have seen the traction control in action, but not the skid control. I just haven't gotten her that sideways. In everyday driving, it is one of those features like airbags...you never want to see them work.
