Very real to me

Well, sir, the problem is very real to me and my wife. Today, I was trying to access I-75 down in Naples, FL. There was a line of traffic behind me, and a lot of traffic doing 75-85 on the Interstate. I accelerated and started onto the "on" ramp - but didn't get very far. The transmission on my 2007 Camry V6 shifted from 1st to 2nd - and that was it. It wouldn't go higher. I hastily pulled off the road and took the car out of gear. Then I turned off the ignition and let the car sit for about ten minutes - while my blood pressure subsided!

then I started the car again and tried to get out into traffic. This time, the transmission worked as it should have - with major jerkiness between 3rd and 4th gears.

I have NO faith in this transmission, as it does as it damned well pleases. Is there a "real" problem here? Do I value my life and the life of my dear wife? Pick a number. . . .

TMUSA keeps on posting that this is NOT a safety issue. I respectfully disagree with him, and somewhere down the line somebody is going to be seriously injured or, God forbid, killed with this faulty transmission.

My 2 cents worth. . .

Respectfully. . . .LR
