Gen6 JL Audio Clean Sweep

Hi guys, first post here on Toyotanation. Please take it easy on me

Just purchased a 07 Camry SE I4 AT last week and have been happy ever since.Almost purchased the Honda Accord hehe.Honda 4 cylinder V-TEC has some annoying buzz when you get on the gas.

I purchased the vehicle without the JBL upgrade and wanted to go aftermarket instead.
Big puddle of drool on my keyboard looking at Hybridamps Eclipse NAV install, really nice work.

Because of rising criminal activity here in Houston i would like to stay with the stock head unit and try to build a new sytem off using JL Audio's new Clean Sweep unit, hooked up to a JL A6450 6 channel amp, running a pair of Focal 165v2 6.5 components up front and Focal 6x9 in the rear and maybe a small sub"maybe"

Any members here have any experience or know someone that have used the JL Audio Clean Sweep ?If the install was in a 07 Carmy it'll be a big plus.

Any information is appreciated

Welcome to the Forum Purty....Fellow Houstonian here.

I am also interested in some info on this. I dont know much about the JL Cleansweep, but there was a post here awhile back about it by whitenoize, another Houstonian....I am also considering the cleansweep because the factory unit looks really good to me and changing systems would ruin the look in my opinion. But with a price tag of around $350...I wanna know this thing works.

Crime is up in Houston, but I have not heard much about auto theft problems. It has never really been a big problem in Houston compared to other cities.

Hopefully whitenoize takes a look at this and chimes in, if not I would "pm" him

Guess i'll be the test hamster then lol.

Gonna have my front and rear doors covered in Dynamat tomorrow and

the Cleansweep should be here on friday ready for install.

I'm gonna ask the installer if he has a reguler Pac converter laying around
so i can see if theres a difference with the Cleansweep and without "kinda skeptical".

BTW the CleanSweep can be bought for less then 290.00 a pop .

I'll keep ya posted on how well this setup turns out

good luck! Are you going to add speakers or uprade them to increase the total watts? If so, what and where and how much is this going to cost you?

For the front doors im gonna go with Focals 165v2's 6.5inch 2 way components"front door holds 6x9s.Using an adapter plate for the new setup.Best price i can get em at is 349.00 at a local shop. You can purchase a set on Ebay or some other online stores for 250.00 but theres way to many counterfeit audio components going around so ill stick with a authorize dealer.

Rear dash a set of Focal 6x9's 150.00

Gonna have it all hooked up to a JL Audio A6450 6 channel amp 365.00 clams.45wattsx6 at 11.4 volts.

The JL Audio Cleansweep is 290.00.I really wanna see if this makes a big difference over a reguler Pac converter.

If i do decide to go with a subwoofer two channels can be bridged to get me 150watts.45wattsx4-150wattsx1.Might add a little 10inch subwoofer to the new setup later if i get bored"really not into big bass anymore"hehe

Sounds like it's going to be impressive! Are you really unhappy with the stock OEM unit? Or is it, you just want a BIG system?

That said, are you worried about rattles in the door/dash/ rear deck panels after you remove them to replace the speakers? You know how sometimes once it's taken apart, it's never quite as tight and fit together as it used to be? I know years ago, a friend who owns a body shop mentioned in passing, that everytime door panels. dash... are removed for work, the 'proper' thing to do is to replace the clips so that they provide near original 'tightness'.

Any worries?

The stock OEM system isnt bad.Its more then adequate for alot of people even me .

With the stock OEM speakers in it now i have to really turn up the volume to hear certain notes, instruments and vocals.Good aftermarket speakers reproduces sounds alot cleaner so instead of having the volume control set at 50 i can have it at 35 with alot more clarity then the stock speakers can reproduce.

My earlier post I mentioned I was gonna have my doors done with Dynamat to help absorb and dampen any squeak or rattles that the speakers might cause later down the line,as for the dash or any other misc. parts that needed to be taken out to complete the installl, theres really not much i can do,so im peachy for now.No worries yet lol.

But for now my stock system is relegated to mostly talk radio stations

Do the research you need more than just one JL thing. They have an item to add the frequencies, you will need this and one to clean the sound, check with JL. It is good stuff if you have the $$$$
