Question So my car is going to be built on Sept 28th, what can you tell me ?

I am a newb of sorts on this forum and have gone through a ton of threads tonight regarding the 2007 issues.

I ordered a '07 SE V6 with pretty much everything but the sunroof and navi.. It is going to be built on Sept 28th.

Has the trans issues been fixed ?

Anything new to be concerned about ?

I know the haters are always more vocal than the people that like their cars so I dismiss about 90% of the bitching threads.

Thanks in advance for your reply, unless of course you tell me this has already been covered.

Welcome to the forums...
All I can want to say is enjoy the car once you get it...
The more you worry, the more you will get paranoid... and then the slightest thing the seems out of place will make you think there is something wrong... which will ruin your experience with the new camry
So just enjoy it

Ahaha it seems as though we are in the same boat Turbo Man. I too have been browsing the forums for the first time tonight and have been reading about various problems with the new V6 SE. My bdays on the 27th and i'll be ordering mines on the 30th, so I'm really curious about those issues as well. Hopefully our models will be trouble free.

PS. I really like what you've done with your cam Netforcer.

I posed this question to a Toyota rep at Toyota South last night in a e-mail. I know her from having some issues when ordering my car last month and she came to the rescue.

She said in a reply today that they fixed the issue but gave no specifics. She also noted that I must be doing my homework well because I referenced the specific problems.

I am still going through with my purchase because as I mentioned before 90% of the negativity you read on the internet about new cars come from a minimal portion of the overall picture.

So according to the person you contacted we should be looking forward to some trouble free camry's?? I wish the representative from toyota could shed some light on this. Obviously there's a problem with the tranny, has toyota aknowledged this and have they issued a recall? Speaking of which have there been ANY recalls on the 07 camry?

**EDIT**
After some quick google search I only came up with the airbag being recalled. Is there anything else?

Haha hey mines being built on the 28th too! I live in Atlanta and I have been waiting 3 months now to get a call from the dealer about when it would be built. It's my first car so I'm starting to get reallllllllyyyyy anxious. Haha I really can't wait to pull up to school in it because all of my friends don't beleive I'm getting one because it's been so long. Btw it's an SE 4 cyl. black exterior with black leather.

Does anyone know how long it generally takes to build the car and how long it takes to ship it?
*Keep in mind it's being built in KY and I'm in Atlanta so, I wouldn't think it would take long to deliver the car*

Well they can probably make one in a day, and delivery should be about a week if not a few days. Good luck and stay safe!

Mine was built in March in "KENTUCKY" I have not had any problems except the (drive by wire) hesitation problem. The problem is correcting itself as it learns my driving habits which are considered brutal. "Good Luck" with your purchase.

We will have to compare VIN's later on because that is where my car is coming from. The corporate Toyota rep I have been talking to said to expect the car 14-16 days after the build.

Also pertaining to the tranny problem. The have fixed it, from what I can gather from doing some research they switched vendors on the tranny.

We shall see, they are getting a 20 year Ford customer that has always been very happy with his cars and service. I hate to get rid of my Lincoln LS but it is getting up there in miles.
