5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Does anyone know if there are any air intake systems available for the '07 Camry SE i4 (or just the '07 Camry in general)? If not, has anyone read anything on the websites of various companies about how far along they are in development?
I know this may sound stupid but for those who have the i4 motor(2AZ-FE)? if im wrong correct me; but wouldnt the ram air for the TC work for our car???? as well as maybe the s/c even though the trd piggyback wouldnt work for our car i think.

Fujita and K&N is currently in the process of creating an intake for the '07 Camry I4.
NICE! Hopefully by the time most performance parts come out ill have the money. Though i really would like to see a s/c from TRD i have a feeling they will soon though.
sorry if i am asking a dumb question but i am not familiar with aftermarket parts, does this effect the engine during winter or when it is raining? how easy or hard is it to take off/ put on?
i see what about low temperatures? say its really cold outside on a winter morning? will this effect the engine in any way? say uses more gas or takes longer to warm up? sorry for the silly questions again : (
I dont think it will be a big difference unless you have intake, header, exhaust then you may notice a gas difference but just a RAI you wont notice a thing i dont think, other than the engine will sound a little louder.
That is what your engine likes is the cold air. Bring on the cold air. As far as install time on a short ram it is very quick. Most of the time is just getting out your old air box. For a cold air you will have to remove the wheel well liner and squeeze pipes through holes in the side of the engine bay. I find that this can(depending on the car) take some time. If you reinstall the wheel well liner properly and do not driver through long deep puddles you should not have a problem with rain wih a coldair. I live in Utah and have always left on my coldair intakes and have never had problems.
i'm lending my 07' i4 to k&n tomorrow for the week for fitment and dyno. i'll keep you guys updated. i believe they said it's gonna be sent in for production very soon.
Talking about Air intakes, anyone knows why the 4 cyl doesn't have a cool air intake seal like the 6 cyl????
For those who don't know this piece, It's a plastic that covers the gap in between the bumper/grill and the cowl top panel (where the hood lock is)....

Did they specify whether they were fitting a cold air intake or short ram intake?
I think i would be happier with Ram air since i remember cold air was a bitch to get to the filter. Though I really want to see a s/c come out for our I4.
