I just picked up Motor Trend November issue.

Page 124 Sport sedans for the common man
Chevy Malibu SS
Mitsubishi glant ralliant
Nissan Altima SE-R
And The one and only Camry SE
Guess who they liked the best

.
...... Camry Se is the #1 Choice
I was planing to scan the article but my scanner just not willing to work today.

Great article. Posted the performance times/results in the 'anyone take their 07 V6 to the track yet?' thread. Wish they would have included more competitors though including the Mazda 6 and Honda Accord Ford Fussion....

Honda accord would be no match. And maybe they didn't classify the speed 6 as a "common mans" sport sedan? And would you even classify the Fusion as sport??

Isn't the Accord due for a redesign next year? I'm pretty sure that's why it wasn't included. As for the Ford Fusion or Mazda 6 (basically the same car anyway)... who knows.

I just think they do not want to get 9 different cars to compete, test and wright about. 4 is a good number to test. Mazda speed 6 is 4wd . I would not include gm and just add accord to the list. Is it accord se or ex-l Honda's sport model?

Carefull not to mix up the Impala SS with the Malibu SS, I agree the Malibu is a joke.... I wonder though what the Impala is really capable of compared to the V6 Camry? Straight bench racing would say the Impala, but I think the Camry might find a weakspot if pushed?

TL doesn't compete in the same market sagment. The Accord? Yeah, new one coming next year, but probably should have included one.
