Gen6 stock stereo volume / speed question

is it just my imagination or does the volume on the stock stereo go up a bit when you speed up and then go quieter when you're slowed down or at an idle? it seems to be doing this and i was wondering if it's just the alternator producing more power at the faster speed or if it's a feature to up the volume a bit because of the engine/road noise. i have a gen 6 camry le

Gen6 Asl

It is ASL. Automatic Sound Leveling is a feature found in all lexus vehicle and now in the toyota's. You can adjust it by pressing your audio button and going to asl. It can be set to low, mid, high, or off.

Seems that the base stereo has high/mid/low while the upgraded radios got simply on/off

I noticed something strange. The radio in my car is louder when switching from ACC position to the ON position? You'd think it would be the reverse?
