5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
We just received our 2007 Camry SE with C package (here in Canada) which comes with the base stereo system.
When using an MP3 disc, I can randomize the whole disc. But how do I skip a track if it's one I don't want to listen to at that time? Yes, I tried the skip feature naturally, but doing that just moves to the next sequential track in the MP3 folder (or the next folder if I'm on the last track in the folder). It DOES NOT move to the NEXT RANDOMIZED song. This is really annoying.
I can fast forward through most of the song then let it naturally randomize, but cannot just skip. Needless to say, I can't go through life just fast forwarding every song I don't want to here... I'll go nuts!
I could press randomize again, but then it forgets which tracks it's already played, obviously.
Please help with how to SKIP the track during RANDOMIZING of the MP3 playback.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
Julian
a little off topic, but curious how much you paid for your Camry SE I4 5A and what dealership? As for your question, I can't answer you, but you'll get alot of answers, I'm sure.
The best way we figured out is to press the random button twice... once will do nothing but turn random off. The second press will choose a new random song.

THanks for the suggestion. I have tried pressing random button twice. But if you do this, the player doesn't know what it has played and what it hasn't. So you end up getting the same songs played over and over... especially if the randomize algorithm isn't so great.
As for the price of the car, it's a company car so we didn't have to worry about that. Sorry!
Still hoping someone has a good answer for this...
Hold down the random button for two seconds and you will hear a beep and a stack of cd's will appear next to the underlined random button. If you press random one time for a second it only places the tracks from that one file on your mp3 disc, whereas the holding it down places all the songs on the disc.

That's good to know... too bad we don't have the answer to the first question... ;-)

I don't believe it remembers which song it played.. it just put the song back into the list. I do hear the same song play over when driving with the randomize on. I will try the hold on method and lets see. It bothered me too but not enough. LOL
Choose better songs so you don't have to skip? HAHAH
I honestly don't have that problem, but i would suggest hittin random a few times..

just push next a bunch of times on the steering wheel and don't count how many times you pushed it that is as random as you are going to get with this particular system.

I tried this method on the way to work... even threw in a couple pushes of the seek down button, to really mix it up. Of course, I didn't count how many times I pressed up or down.

Not random enough. That only mean a few songs up or down. Unless you press it so many many many many times to get pass the 50 songs away.
