your cabin filter is behind your glove box. when you take down your glove box, youll see a white tray and its in that.

When I changed my cabin filter I bought mine at the local auto store for $9.00. The material seems cheaper than the OEM from Toyota but seems to do the job. Toyota charges $25.00

Just wanted to add some feedback from your excellent response that might help others with theirs- on my wife's 2002 4 cylinder, what you have to do is first unscrew the phillips screw that goes to a type of dampner- the kind I think you'll find on a screen door. Then, as the glove box is still 'attached' you need to squeeze the plastic tabs inward of the actual box to free them from the sides. As this allows the box to drop down it reveals straight ahead the plastic tray that you again squeeze the sides in to pull the tray which holds the fileter element. The easest way to save some money- took all of 5 minutes.

Easy way to save $50!

Do you know the dealers in my area charge $70 to do this ? At my last oil change, they "reminded" me that it was time to replace it since it had been around 12K miles since I did the last one. I politely said no thanks, stopped at the local parts store, picked one up for $19, and took all of 5 minutes to pop it in.
