I have the metra and it matches 100%, maybe you received one from a bad production run?

Here's a pic:

The soft warm glow on the left side is an artifical color created by the interior lights, you'll notice the right side shows it matching perfectly.

No, it's not factory, it's an Eclipse AVN-5500; I just made my own wallpaper and uploaded it via CD to the Eclipse Unit. Eclipse allows you to remove their logo and replace it with your own for the boot-up screen.

And you're right, the factory navigation has buttons along both sides:

Wow your aftermarket setup is much cleaner then the OEM. How much did it cost you for the whole thing?

The mounting kit, plus the navigation unit (which I purchased from an authorized dealer) cost me about $1,350.

I only saw the Scosche install kit on Crutchfield's website, no Metra. From what I can from a little research, the Metra kit is a better buy. The one I saw on Ebay came with the wiring harness.

Oh, odd, Crutchfield first started carrying the Metra I thought; maybe they switched...

Anyhow, I purchased mine from eBay, and you do not need the wiring harness if you have a non-JBL system, but if it's free, who can complain.

The metra kit comes with instructions.

It's pretty simple.

Basically: remove the center air-vents, remove the two cosmetic trim clips, remove (untwist) the shifter knob, remove the center shifter console, remove the aux-input/storage compartment, then four bolts and the stock cd-unit/ac controls come right out.
