Has anyone put aftermarket seats in their gen5? The reason i'm asking is because i notice there is sometime type of sensor for the passenger seat to allow the airbag to be deployed at certain impacts. So i;m wondering is there anyone to trick the computer and have this function think that there is somethign sitting in the seat at all times? Or can i somehow rig this sensor to the bottom of the new aftermarket seats....other than that i do not see a problem with the drivers seat. So basically it has come down to the Sparco Milano 2 or the Recaro Speed. I'm kind of leaning towards the recaro. Let me know what you guys think about this situation.
racing seats????? lol you got a turbo on the cam? supercharger? IMO racing seats are not for our class cams. I suggest you upgrade to leather seats instead. But if you want em, get em. There's got to be a way of tweaking with the sensor i bet, just look at the manual, i am guessing it works by detecting when someone is sitting, sort of like a button that gets pushed down with the weight of the passenger. Thaty would be easy to mess with, but i am not sure.
yeah i was thinkin about getting some sparco's also.. but it'll be a waste since gen5's come with the auto. seat adjuster... majorgercko where in socal do you live? i think i might have ran into you once.. not sure..
The passenger seat has some type of sensor that detects weight. When a certain threshold is exceeded, the passenger side seat belt light comes on. I assume the airbag becomes deployable as well. I've had the passenger side seat belt light to come on when I've had a heavy backpack in the passenger seat before.

Always got something else in mind...
Well bucket seats are out of the question for me epsilon....the reacro speeds are adjustable as well at the sparcos. Both of which have better back support IMO. ALl in all i am not satisfied with the comfort of my seats. As well as the height of them and the material. I wanted to reupholster, but i'm opting for reclinable buckets. Although the bolsters are more defined, they are still no where near full race bucket seats... As far as the rest of my interior, yes i will reupholster as well as the roof linign an and door panels. Status only makes one seat i like which is the SPA seat, and i ahevn't been able to get a quote from anyone about it. I only lean towards recaro due to their longevity in the business, longevity in material.
MAjorgecko, i only opt for new seats cuz i really hate the stock seats(so really no point in upgrading to leather in my case). Its by far the worst seat i've ever been in. althouhg our class doesn't call for race seats, there are not too many seats out there that cater to non race or non race insprired cars...i think i can get away with it as long as i feel comfortable

Honestly man, i've had better experience with the manual sliders and all the good stuff. Its like i've been wanting all the stuff i have long time ago..but just no funds to back it up. BUt honestly if i could take it all back for one thing it would be seats. Its like my rav 4 and the mr2 had much better hold and produced less fatigue on my lower back. Despite the fact that the seats weren't plush i would rather take the seat off my rav 4 and put it in my cam.
haha, just buy the seats and get the custom seat sliders. I know a place that can does it, i just cant grab that name right now. when i can i'll let you know. oh majorgercko i think i might have saw you around.. rosemead area. but it might not be you since you live in the valley.. but yeah i guess theres another person that looks like yours.

andy what was the name of that place? I know of wedge engineering but i am short of a ride back and to pick up the seat brackets while i wait for them. If this becomes a problewm i might just have to reconsider buying seats
