Gen6 A/C sometimes turns on by itself while i'm in defrost mode

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldnt' find the answer with search.

Here's what happens:

1) It's cold out, and the windows are frosty.
2) Turn on the rear defroster (push the right knob)
3) Set airflow for front window defrost w/ the right knob (last setting clockwise)
4) Set the temperature (middle knob) to full heat
5) Turn on the airflow (left knob)

result: At random times, the air will begin to flow with the A/C activated

Important note: A/C was never activated before. So this is not a case of forgetting to turn off the A/C in the previous time in the car.

What's going on?

This has been standard on most if not ALL Toyota vehicles as far as I can remember. And I'm also sure that if you were to browse through your owners manual you'd find that it's stated there. I dont understand why people buy $25,000 cars but refuse to read their owners manual but people will buy a DVD player and read the manual religiously.

But people are used to being pampered and spoonfed.

...and it's all about emotions and feelings..

Although this has been standard on American cars for many years, it became standard on the generation 4 Camry. My generation 3 Camry does not do this, so I can understand the confusion.

I never noticed this on my Gen5. I guess I will have to check it out.
