So happy to get seamless integration with my factory JBL 6 Disc changer. Dice Electonics has a really nice looking system for factory stereos. Includes a module that plugs into the CD changer port on the back of the radio and a cradle for you ipod that has a dock connector.
I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but upon removal of the unit I ran across something I didn't expect. There are 2 ports on the back of the unit, one of them is occupied and the other is empty. The supplied Dice vehicle specific wiring harness only fits into the unoccupied port. So I went ahead and finished installation using the unoccupied port and it doesn't work. Maybe I'm missing something.
I wasn't expecting this wiring issue. Does anybody know if the unused port is live? And if so what is it used for?

what happens when you connect it to the UNUSED port on the radio?

Nothing. The ipod doesnt fire up or anything. Also I am unsure of which mode button on the front the radio corresponds to the unused port.
hmmmmmmm
thanx
sorry - don't really know much about the 5th gen.
did you try looking at the wiring diagrams / manuals that i sent u the link to?
You should be able to find out where AUX inputs are located in there

i do know that with the aux port on my 07 camry, you need to have the iPod playing in order for the AUX buttion to actually pull up the iPod - try playing a song first before hitting the CD/AUX button on your radio. (If it isn't CD/AUX - look for a button that says "SAT")

yah, i tried that too. something is fishy here. Dice has not replied to my service call today.
i'll keep looking, thanks for your input.
sux that i spent $250 for the stuff after much research and this comes up.
Just talked to a Dice rep about the issue. After 2 days I must say.
He seems to think that the unoccupied port is live and that is the one I should use.
Suggested to make sure all the switches on the Dice module are in the proper position and retry the installation from the begining. Also suggested to try to reset the radio.
I'll read my manual to find out how. Anybody know how just in case? There might be a securitycode, how will I handle that?

I checked into the security code for the radios when I was performing the rear camera installation on my 07 Navi System, & toyota told me that they stopped using codes in the radio beginning in 1995, so you have an 04 right - theres no code needed!
