5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Body Side Molding - Placement vs. Australian Camry - PIX Included
I was over at the Australian Toyota Site checking out the Aurion & started looking at their version of the Camry. I noticed that the body side moldings, which I personally think are ugly on our Gen 6 camry (no offense to anyone who has them), look much nicer where they are placed on the australian camry.
They seem to be a bit bulkier than the ones for the US. Does anyone know if the US BSM Accessory can be placed lower, and if so, has anyone done it lower? I'd like to see some pix if so!

in my opinion i wouldn't get them at all really because i don't like the way they look where they're placed, however,
Aren't they really to protect the car from other driver's cars --not from your car hitting someone else's. I'd venture to say that someone that goes out and spends extra to put this on their car is probably like myself, overly cautious every time they open their door!
You can't really protect the car from every car's doors, as a Civic's door would touch my car at a different height than an Escalade - see what I mean! I think it's really there to add style to the Aussie Camry - I think it looks good actually.

Is it hard to clear the corners on the gen6? I'm absolutely inlove with the look.
me personally, will not take my headlight apart to take teh amber out, however I love the look as well. When you take the light apart, you must seal it very well, or you well end up getting water or condensation inside, which makes you lights look like shit & defeats the purpose of the whole mod!

Taking the entire reflectors out, I am against... clear reflectors I am for... but with my blackhousing... amber looks better than clear reflectors
I agree, I like the way the amber looks w/ your blacked out housing!
