Satellite radio noise from the Aux port.. 07 Camry
Hello All,
probably should post this on the Audio site, but its Camry related.. I wonder if anyone has come across and fixed the problem. Here's the problem : I have a Sirius S50 satellite radio plugged into the Camry's auxillary port.. Everything is great until the lights are on and then a whizzing sound is apparent and annoying.. Now I was able to quiet the noise with PAC SN-1 / 3.5mm inline noise filter from Crutchfield, but it also filters out the bass and blands it down.. I think that the 12V port and the auxillary port are too close to each other causing the noise, but that kind of cancels my theory because my 07 FJ has the some distance with the power and auxillary port. Might be that the S50 Sirius is more sensitive. I am thinking if there is a good shielded 3.5mm auxillary cable available ? My plan of remedy tonight is to plug the S50 power cord to the second 12V on the console and see if that cures the problem.
thanks in advance

Have you heard of the Auxies. They are little people that can be found on the aux ports on many stereos. They can cause many problems They originate from Japan. That probably means your car was built in japan. There is a cure. You must soak the entire system into chlorine. It will kill them.

Same Radio Noise

I have a 07 SE V6 and had the same problem with my xm roady xt. Went the Crutchfield filter route also it worked for about a hour then the noise returned finally went the factory route $238. went to a auto radio installer ( not Bestbuy or Circuit city ) paid a $150. and the radio is great. The radio shop did say the JBL Premium radio made by Pioneer is very expensive way over the $1000. option price it is. You would think for a grand the XM would be functioning at delivery. The answer I got from sales was it gives the owner a choice between XM or Serious. Good Luck

Just remembered, turning off FM transmitter(on by default) made a big differance in sound quality.

Gen6 Satellite radio noise from the Aux port.. 07 Camry - SOLVED-

-SOLVED-
Thanks to all that replied with great suggestion.. I purchased a Scosche In-Line power lead noise suppressor with RCA inputs. Part number ES034. Purchased at WalMart for 14.00 bucks and bought female to female connection from radio shack to connect RCA to 3.5 plugs to the Camry's auxillary plug and my Sirius S50. The outcome is great. I have Bass and Stereo.. I checked by unlugging and using the Fm modulator I was using before. No problem.. So thanks to everyone and hope this helps for future users. I have pics, but I need to clean and hide the install. I will take pics of the Scosche suppressor. The Camry has knock-out on the passengers side cubby hole to access the console pocket. there is also a gap between the console and side pocket to fish the antenna and hide the wires under the passenger carpet. - my next mode is to shorten the shifter shaft and re-thread and install a new shofter knob.
