Even if you lower the car it will be not problem at all. With a 7.5 wheel I "think" that you can go up to +40 offset without rubbing and it will fill the gap very nicely. I have 18x8 +42 offset with 235/45 18 and 1.75 springs and I can put my fingers in between the wheel and the fenders. Next rims are gonna be +40 for me..
If you are thinking lowering the car I would recommend that you lower the car first and latter get the right size and offset to fit your needs....

Good luck

Sorry not to steal you post but I posted this a couple of weeks before in the Hybrid section but didn't get any response....

I was wondering if these would fit on my 07 TCH:

wheels:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...4.3&vid=010329

tires:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...29&rd=18&ar=45

No the car is not lower. Currently everything is stock for now...but these are the wheels i'm looking to purchase.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hotboi

So are you saying that the tire will come off or be unsafe to drive? Please explain, thanks.

If possible, I would recommend going with a lower offset allowing the wheels to sit more flush with the fenders.

You can mount a 245 wide tire on a 7.5 wide wheel, but it's optimal to mount it on at least a 8 wide wheel allowing for best tire performance and prevents possibilities of wheel or tire failures.

Well the offset is +45, correct? So what do you recommend than? I thought +45 is what you should go with...guess I'm wron or did I read it wrong from the website....

Sorry, I'm a noobie

So a 235 series tire would be better with less chance of failure?

Your current offset is +45, but then again you are currently running on wheels that are 6.5" wide. Since you are increasing the width to 7.5", I would see if they have the wheels in a +35, +40, or +42.
