Gen6 [HELP] needed with Sirius antenna installation

Hello all...

This is a direct result of an impulse buy, I saw a Sirius One for $40 and I bought it thinking it's be nice to have for the car but now I need some input on how to run the wires. After some search on TN and spending some time in the car, I think the cubby in front the the transmission is the best place for the Sirius.

I initially wanted to run the antenna though the trunk lid then come through the back seats but the wires are showing too much. The fact that SE doesn't have folding seats is probably to blame here.

My plan is to mount it on the roof ( probably above the passenger seat ) and run the wires through the passenger door then into the cubby compartment.

I have never done this before... I under I am supposed to run the wires close to the weather strippings or even inside of it?

Your tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Thank you!

I mounted my antenna to my rear speaker deck... works just fine through the glass... then I ran the wire along the edge of the rear deck, and into one of the panels that line the door sills... straight through to the middle of the car, under the driver's seat to the center console, through the center console up into the little space in front of the shifter to where my unit is.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

in my friend's car we run it trough the car to the trunk and run the wire trough the rubber seal and set the antenna on top of the trunk right on the center and almost against the glass. You have to leave some wire for when you open the trunk..(see picture and don't laugh)

Thanks guys

El Tano, how did you run your wires from the trunk into the car? And where is your radio sitting?

I tried to run the wires from the trunk today but I couldn't find a way to hide the wires nicely but since your XLE has the same non-folding seat as my SE... I am very interested to see how your set-up looks like.

BTW, it looks just fine on the trunk and I hope to join the ranks!

Thank you!

I didn't do it in my car, It's my friend's car and he lives like 50 miles away, otherwise I would get you pics. We took one part of the back seat out and removed the door sills on the driver side and run the wire under the dash to the center console.
Basically made a "little" hole (remember rubber stretches) on the center of the water seal on the trunk (as high as possible of the water seal), run the wire underneath the rear tray (were the rear speakers are) run the wire behind the insulation carpet to the door sill...
Note: He glued the antenna to the glass. If you want the antenna on top of the trunk door (kinda like the pic) remove the insulation from the trunk door and run the wires along with the other wires next to the driver side trunk hinge... It looks cleaner this way....

I hope it helps

Hey Frosty vibe ,I have a'07 SC.I mounted the antenna inside, by the 3rd brake light passenger side. Ran wire around back edge of rear deck (pushed in with plastic spatula),down side of rear seat (push hand behind seat)to under door sils (just pull up only 2 plastic clamps holding),then up behind glove box to cubby where radio is mounted.( through inner hole provided by Toyota) Took about an hour. Good luck . found photo in gallery.

I installed a Sirius sportster in the cubby hole in front of the transmission. The antenna is located on the roof above the rear glass. I ran the wire under the rubber seal for the rear glass, then through the trunk, under the rear seat, under the carpet, and then under center counsel to the cubby hole.
