Gen5 New guy on the block

I'm in NYC manhattan! How's everyone doing? This is my first post since I've joined TN forums about two or three weeks ago. I've read almost every single postings that are relative to what I've been planning for my Silver 2004 camry LE 4 cyl (4 banger according to some people here). Everyone's postings has given me the help I needed to find the parts I've always wanted for my car. So, after doing my research here as well as google, last Wednesday I've ordered all my parts together from two places online as well as a body kit. Here's my list!

1. K sport big brake kit $2120
2. K sport GT PRO damper coilovers $1287
3. Remus exhaust twin 02 (just muffler because the sales rep told me if i were to get Y pipes custom made, it'll make my car sound like those RiCeR civics, which I hate!)
4. Secret weapon intake (had some difficulty finding an INJEN or AEM one, despite everyones' postings) but I would love to get something better. Please send me link!!!
5. TRD strut tower bar.
6. TOP GEAR 2 front bumper, side skirts, and WONDROUS body kit rear bumper with sportivo grille and gs fog lights (buyspoilers.com) <--- exactly how it looks on the site

Originally my local garage was going to get a TRD supercharger for my car, not the one for scion, it's two different superchargers according to those guys. However, TRD was not willing to make ONE for me because it's discontinued. So... that will be something that I'll have to look into further, down the road. So, yea.. that was taken out of my plan, that's why I even thought about a complete body kit. Soo.. before I even did my research about what parts are available for upgrading my car, Last Year, I only changed my rims into 18 inch black rims from american racing that I got on sale from Strauss auto at shore parkway and bought superwhite halogen bulbs from luminics. The bulbs worked great, but I wanted HIDs. Around brooklyn (for those who know, 86th street, 8th avenue, and 65th street) everyone had them aftermarket HID kits. Them really blue lights that everyone sees. I was thinking about getting those however, every single night I would see some unfortunate fella have one of them HID bulbs blow out. Which is one of the funniest things I see. Their cars are really hooked up, them EVOS and WRX, but only one side of them lights are working. Which to me looks like it got punched in the eye and it can't open up! LOL
Because of that, I didn't get HIDs. About a month and a half ago, my superwhite halogen light bulbs blew out, which got me so pissed, cause now my car looks like them, just not as cool!! So for about two weeks, i was running on OEM light bulbs... EWWWWWWW.... Apparently, the aftermarket superwhite light bulbs emit so much heat, that it burnt out my right sides' adapter. So.. I went away on my google search frenzy for HID headlight units. I stumbled upon these really really nice (IMO) HID headlight units. Also it was black! my whole car color theme is silver and black. I got them from www.xtralights.com (does anyone here know about them?) What got my attention was the Q45 looking LOW beam HID projector.

LINK: http://www.xtralights.com/ProductIma...PCAM02JMOR.jpg

Instantly I feel in love, and I ordered them. I had them include the deep blue (which is white with a tint of blue, noticeable from afar) Got them installed about 4 weeks ago, I got them installed and I'm loving my car more and more each time I drive it or even look at it.

Now, this is will be all crap talk if I didn't have pics to back it up. I will have the before and after pics by next week because my parts are arriving shortly. I will take some pics of the transformation!!

I am still missing some essential parts for my car's suspension. I need a link where I can purchase front and rear sway bars. The postings that I've read as well as the links provided, no longer has them. I was told that there is a very noticeable improvement with these sway bars.

Speaking of suspensions, the coilovers, I was told by K sports themselves, that they should handle like the SL500 or even the dodge viper!! Now i haven't driven any of these cars before so I don't know.. As long as there's a drastic change and feel after all this is said and done, I will be the happiest Camry owner~!

looks like it'll turn out great, good luck with it! can't say i'm too enthusiastic about your choice of headlights or your hid kit though... those headlights are cheap pieces of crap. trust me... i bought the regular projector version, and i ended up throwing the headlights away. they are noticeable from afar because the optics are HORRIBLE and you put in an HID kit...

Welcome to TN... I'm going to be fair to you and provide some constructive criticism, like LE05 did. And I won't sugarcoat anything...

I agree with everything LE05 said. plus I can guarantee you that those ARE NOT HID projectors in those headlights. They're just cheap halogen projectors. Putting HIDs in those creates terrible optics and creates a ton of glare. You would've been better off doing your own retrofit, like many have been doing-- myself, Hawkeye-SE, LE05, thapranksta, taj786, etc. Everyone "sees" those HID lights that you're talking about because it glares everyone, and you can be certain that cops will notice it too.

Also, good luck finding an authentic sportivo grill. They aren't made anymore, and only a few ever made it overseas to the U.S. (mine was the last).

If you want an Injen intake, go to ajusa.com. AEM doesn't make intakes for Gen 5s.

KSport big brake kits for the Gen 5 are $2,650, not $2,120.

A TRD strut tower bar won't really do much unless you add a TRD rear sway bar.

Honestly, I think you have A LOT of reading to do. You should do your research before doing any mods. Because I'm about 99.9% certain that already, your headlights look ricey with that HID kit.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Wow, I've been away from this forum for a while but I come back now and see the same HID types of topic as before.

People have been flamed pretty badly in the past for not using the right housing appropriately designed for HID and its just a mess to others when the car goes on the road. white3ch0c0late is absolutely right about these "gatling gun" headlights too. If I remember correctly, there was a thread about these several months back (they were being sold on eBay) and we all decided that they are not very good.

Anyways - I'm not here to flame anyone, I just want to help in your decision. I would recommend doing a custom job with perhaps some BMW HID projectors (as some members have) or taking HIDs from the Lexus IS or ES.

My '07 ES came with the AFS but I'm sure you can find those that dont and try to do a custom job with projectors from them. I've not done HID conversion on my Camry in the past so my experience on this stuff is zero. All I know is that HIDs are awful to other drivers when not done right.

Good luck with your project - and show us some pictures when you get done.
