So after having these cars for some time, I am noticing things....
First, to compare, the Camry wins.
So here are the problems excluding wear and tear issues:
The 2003 Camry's history Now 37500 miles:
1. o2 sensor went bad at 33k. Replaced under warranty.
2004 Malibu's history, now 38500 miles:
1. Exhaust pipe developed a hole just before the cat. Replaced under warranty.
2. Brake thumping noise from 70mph when slowing down. Warped rotor. Warranty.
3. Clunking noise from the steering wheel when turning. Not repaired yet.
4. Chattering sound from the engine when accelerating from stop in 1st gear. (Loose exhaust bolt?) Not repaired yet.
5. Seat belt recall, fixed.
6. Steering pump failure. Made car undriveable. Happened to be a recalled part. Fixed. Good thing this failure didn't happen on the freeway....
Camry still rides smooth. No issues except for O2 sensor which went bad, no unusual noises.
So my conclusion? Chevy sucks.
