5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was going by real world numbers. What they sell for.
And XLE v6 for 27k doesn't come with NAV and a few other items. Ours had a MSRP of 33k and it was a rare loaded model. My TL was 32,8k, the RL was 40,9k.
Let's talk apples to apples...a TL w/NAV has an MSRP of $35k and sells for around $31.5k. My fully loaded SE V6 w/NAV, XM Radio, Remote Start...etc, etc. etc... had an MSRP of $32.9k and I got it fro $28.8k.
So almost $3k difference in real world experience of similarly featured cars.

Actually it is very reliable. It has all RED Circles in Consumer Reports. Though I will say for 2004-2005 on that bodystyle, it had some issues. 2006 they fixed most of them.

Isn't the XLE more expensive? The TL w/NAV you can only get for around 32-33k. No NAV around 31k.

Yes, the XLE is more than the SE at a base level MSRP.
As for the TL, I had a 2006 TL w/NAV that I was going to p/u for $31k. That is the negotiated price. That is what I compared to my $28k paid (not including TTL) on my SE V6 w/Nav. I was keeping it apples to apples.

You picked it up while they were clearing ou tthe 2006s with drastic discounts. the 07s go for 34k. Normally 33.8k for a NAVI 06 with a normal discount. I got mine for 33,4k I believe when I got it.

Possibly, I was searching for a car from December until March. The TL pricing did not change throughout, although a Downey Acura in CA was offering an RL for $39k that was very hard to not jump on. I was dealing with Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA mostly.

Sure, just STILL not as reliable as it's Lexus rival as you claimed. Sorry to hear that.
If your going to look at a TL might as well look at gettin a Lexus. ya the tl is 10k more than the camry so might as well look at a lexus if you can spend an extra 10k like the new IS350.
Maybe im a little confused on the subject but if i was going to compare a TL i would look at lexus not toyota. Kinda cant compare price between toyota and acura. Acura will cost more thus spending the extra for better quality that Honda and that the name Acura. Kinda like how toyota and lexus is.

TL is only 2k~ more than a loaded XLE Camry.
The cheapest Lexus is the ES350 or the IS250, and they both don't start till 35-36k base.
