Car audio theft prevention

hey guys, so I just bought a 07 Camry SE this past weekend with the JBL 6CD stereo system. The car is wonderful, but thieves might think the same too. So, I am wondering, how do I protect the JBL system so that it's not easy to be snatched by despicable individuals? And does the stereo system being factory-installed turn thieves off since it's molded for Camry?

Probably but it wouldn't stop another Camry owner without JBL to desire it. Doesn't the radio need an unlock code if it's disconnected from the car or battery, I would think that would deter enough.

Thats true, but doesnt the JBL system also have an amp installed too? Like under the passenger seat or something? They'd have to steal that too in order to even use it wouldnt they? I havent heard about a lock cod either, but that would be cool if there is one.

I do feel the OP though. Mines a non JBL system so im not AS worried, but im naturally paranoid about my ride anyway, so its still something I think about too.

Yes there's an amp under the pasenger seat with the JBL unit. But back to the OP I wouldn't worry too much because it's difficult to tell if the head unit is the JBL or not unless you know what too look for. The JBL has a small logo at the lower left, the load button says load, and the AM also says SAT. I guess as long as you don't sticker up the outside like you're sponsored, most will see a stock stereo and move on. You wouldn't even know it's a in-dash 6 disk changer unless you are familiar with the car.

You can always get the Toyota Security System with glass breaking sensors. Add some tint to the mix and you got a clueless theif who will set off the alarm if he tries to get in. I'm sure they won't have enough time to take the stereo out with the alarm going off.
