mine does it when i rev it, like it goes pssh and then revs, the 2AZ-FE has several engine noises that are normal, ticking, valve lifter+timing chain slapping around. How often do u here this noise, what kind of driving conditions, engine rpm,....etc.

So was it nothing? I use my 08 camry 4cyl as a daily driver and I've racked 14k on it. I noticed that on the driver's rear side, I hear a loud, constant hissing noise.. kinda sounds like air leaking out at a constant rate, but Ive checked my tires and they are all inflated properly.

Any input?

As for the writeup. I dont know what more you want from me. Ive described it as best as I could. Maybe a videoclip might help so I'll try to do that.

I am not here to judge how you post, I don't mind, just unlikely that reviving an old thread which is only somewhat close helps to get started - therefore, I referenced a thread which might help how you can get an answers from the experts here (not me)....

From an auditory inspection, a guy at the dealer said it was just the regular sound that the fuel pump makes. I'll trust the expert.

Hey! I'm a noob, but I used the search and found this. Take that, other users. Don't throw your stones at me....

Anyways, just a couple of days ago I noticed a constant hissing noise coming from under my car. It's located mainly around the rear driver side, but can also be heard distinctly from the passenger side too. It sounds just like air leaking out of my tires, but my tires are fine, and the sound only occurs when the car is on. I'm kind of assuming it is something with my exhaust line... ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated it. I'll also search around for a while.

Zombie thread, back from the dead, will eat your brains

2003 camry.

yes i get that too. when driving, especially in a quiet environment, you can hear a hissing sound (like air releasing) about once every 10-20 mins.

i heard that it is normal as it is how the system releases air/ circulates air.

but i am still trying to find out more on the web....

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. This problem is constant from the moment that I cut on my car to the moment I shut it off. It can be in park in the parking lot and the sound is still occurring. It also does not get any louder when I hit the gas. It just stays the same all the time. It's a constant noise that occurs at all times when the car is cut on and does not seem to change intensity. Thanks again!!
