5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am planning to buy a 2007 Toyota Camry LE V6 Silver/Ash Gray/CF/FE through the Costco.com Auto Purchase Program for hopefully $500-600 above invoice.
I also wanted to get the following options, but it seems impossible to find a car with these options already installed from the factory, without special ordering it: V5 – VIP RS3200 Plus Security System with GBS AW – Aluminum Wheels
I know I can get these installed by the dealer as after-market options, but they will charge 3-4 times the cost compared to the factory and I do not want to special order the car.
I wanted to know if there was a cheaper source or way of getting the security system and aluminum alloy wheels installed without getting gouged by the dealer to have these two options installed? I was also wondering if there were any other comparably priced 16" alloy wheels which look better than the standard Toyota wheels?
Look on Ebay for your wheels... many owners who go aftermarket with wheels, put there old rolling stock on Ebay for about $100-$125 a wheel. As for aftermarket, the sky's the limit on looks and finish. Take a look in the Gallery section at the top of this site and take a look at what some of the Toyota Nation have done, and specifically the aftermarket wheels they chose, and what they look like.
As for your alarm, can't help you there, but again aftermarket offers alot of choice too.

I suggest you do not go through Costco auto purchase as you can get below invoice. I did on my wife's 07 camry xle v6 w/nav. Paid $@28,200 before TTL. I suggest you email as many socal dealers for email quotes and then take the lowest to your nearest dealer and ask them to beat it.

Can you really get a Camry below invoice? How does a dealer make profit going below invoice? How much below invoice did you get?
Mine was $200 below invoice... of course this brought up a lot of hours of arguing and causing a scene... but I got what I wanted. Even though I believe everyone at that dealer thinks I'm annoying or what not... I came out on top with a nice deal.
In temrs of getting the car now... the car is still considered pretty hot... but if you wait a little longer... it'll die down and so will the prices.

I walked out the dealer with the same car in Titanium, all identical options for $2,456 less than you paid.

2007 Black Camry XLE w/ Navigation w/Smart Key w/all Mats
That's the package I got, under 28,0000 after TTL.
But with Costco discount, that package is below 29k before TTL last I checked a month ago.
I looks like a lot of people are getting their Camry's close to or even below invoice, which beats the Costco Auto Program price of $500 above invoice.
I would like to know others who have gotten a better deal than $500 above invoice on an base 07 Camry LE V6? How much did you pay?

You only have to pay dealer invoice at Fitzmall or any other dealer all day, every day, with a little work.
It's ridiculous to post what you paid for a car "out the door". Every state has a different tax structure and it offers no valid information for comparison, without a breakdown regarding what the vehicle price was.
