Bluetooth phone recommendation for the Camry

I just got an 07 Camry XLE and have a question about using the Bluetooth feature. My current phone requires about eight separate button pushes and three different menus to turn the Bluetooth on or off. I don’t want to walk around with the Bluetooth feature on all the time as this runs the battery down faster. Since my contract is up soon anyway I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a phone that allowed you to toggle the Bluetooth on and off easier ( If you could program one of the external buttons to be a Bluetooth toggle that would be great) ? Thanks

I have the Sony Ericcson W600i and it works great with the bluetooth. Like you said, one button turns the bluetooth on or off, so I think you'd like it. Works perfect with the bt too.

I've tried the Motorola Razr, Motorola Q, Palm Treo 700w and they all worked.

If you're picking a phone based on BT compatibility/useability get one that had the OPP and OBEX that can push the contacts (names/numbers) to the car.

I just purchased the Samsung M500 and has used it only a couple of times. So far, no problems. I need to keep checking this thread to get updates. And I also need to finish reading the bluetooth sections in the owners manual.

So the Motorola's work fine with the Camry's Bluetooth? And it can be set to automatically connected when you entered into the car? You don't have to even click on something in the car to have it turned on?? I am finding a phone which works with Camry's handsfree, as my Sony Ericsson S710a doesn't work great with it. I only able to have it connected once ever. I had the car couple months now. I appreciate your input... thanks

The tmobile SDA also works great. There is also a registry hack program out there that will enable OPEX so you can x-fer contacts.

Keep in mind that this will only work if your phone has Bluetooth enabled (or powered on) so the car can connect to it. The Camry will not "turn on" a phones Bluetooth.

You can look up specific phones that your carrier offers, and also find the ones Toyota recommends.

Now I realized why ppl say the phone can be connected automatically. Just got a Motorola V3, and its really automatically hook up with the Bluetooth in Camry whenever entered into the car. Very Nice.

However, needs to find out a way to disable this function right away when someone in the car while I getting a personal call.
