'07 SE I4 Shift Auto Transmission

I have the '07 I4 SE Camry and wanted to know if it was possible to actually use the gears such as 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 for some "spirited driving" or basically for engine breaking and if it would mess up the transmission or not.

I need to deal with traffic sometimes and like to keep it in 2nd so the car automatically slows down without having to push the brakes all the time.

Also to give it an extra little boost without having to mash the gas pedal would it be safe to shift like that or not?

I dont understand your question. Gears 4, 2, 2, & L is meant for stronger engine braking. Which means STRONG ENGINE BRAKING LOL! Not "faster and funner" driving. Thats what the V6 is

You can shift up and down just like a manual, no problem.

Check your owner's manual for more info.

what njerald said its ok. Its controlled electrically so you really dont have to worry about going to low it will prevent too high of a rev i believe. also remember if you manual shift alot it will ware the trans oil faster than normal. learning experince with another car had to reservice almost the entire trans wasnt fun....the trans had 10k more miles to go before reservicing.
