5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just purchased a pair of 2006 porsche cayenne bixenon headlights (for the projectors).
See pic
Now after looking at them closer, I think they might be too big th replace the factory projector. I was going to use the smaller one in the headlight in my fogs.
Any suggestions?

You can always do custom fabrication to make the bixenon projectors fit. Even if you went with another HID projectors, nothing is really simple bolt on but instead requires some work to make it fit.
The stock Camry projector is 2.5". The easiest projectors to use are single xenon projectors, which are also 2.5". With 2.5" projectors, you'd be able to use the stock housing/shroud without modification. Nothing wrong with going bi-xenon, but like Epsilon said, you'll need to do some custom work. Probably wouldn't take more than some trimming around the edges of the stock shroud, and then some sanding to make it look smooth.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Just curious, why did you choose the '06 Prsche Cayenne bixenon projectors? I'm not bashing on you or anything but most people who go with bixenon projectors choose the FX35 or the E46 bixenon projectors.

I got a good deal on them plus I wanted to find a way to put the smaller projector in my fogs.
If they turn out to be absolutely too big to work with without hacking away dangerous portions of your headlights or you are not very confident with your retroing skills, I suggest getting some single xenon projectors. Since you claim to have gotten a good deal, you can probably head to hidplanet.com and sell the Porsche projectors on there for a profit (you will probably need references). Or you can do ebay. I prefer hidplanet for selling hid stuff because there is no timed auction and you have a lot of retrofitters viewing your stuff which increases the likelihood of it selling.
My two pennies.

I just don't want the back of the basket to look like ass.
If it all fits in the housing, I can make it work.
The stock projectors are much larger than the fog light assy, FYI

Well, there is one thing left to do to resolve this issue.........see if they fit in the headlight. I know you must have a pair of spare headlights so it shouldn't be a problem to open them up. If they fit in the headlight, then get to work. If not, get rid of em and get single xenon.

I want to put the small ones from the porsche lights in my fogs.
Ah yes, I miss-understood that. My bad.

This took me two days to complete, i had the headlights apart to paint them and I said what the hay lets do the retro. My first idea was to sell them and just fix the squirrel spotters but decided to go for it. I've already noticed a huge difference, especially in the snow.
I just need to find boots for the back.
What do you think?
