I have made it through the step "verify that the file system..." above, but can't figure out "add the udf label"? I left it blank and when I clicked burn it made an xxx.ISO file and an XXX.mso file. I tried to use Nero burning rom but it told me it can't copy files larger the 2g. the ISO file was 7.G. what am I doing wrong. I know I'm close. Thanks

ImgBurn will create 1 file. This file, a "yourfilename.ISO", is the layout of the entire DVD. You can then use Nero; point Nero to that ISO using the Burn Image function, and that will then finish the creation of the DVD for you.
mine created two files .iso and . mso. I put them both on the disc using Nero and it didn't work. The disk is unreadable. My disk copy using nero express burned a backup of 6.1 with no problems.

This is posted right above your message.
Use nero's "burn image" option and point it to the .iso file you created. It will then burn the disc. You didn't use that option.
Here is what I've done. I was able to make a complete copy of my 6.1 disk using Nero and it is my working backup in the car right now.
I can't get the hybrid disk to work.
I have reread and recreated the image using imgburn. still nothing. the steps I took were mode / build. souce was c:\ new folder (where I copied the disk to and replaces the loading file)I clicked the options tab and selected ISO9660 +UDF and then checked Recurse subdirectories. clicked Labels tab and typed toyota in the udf volume label. then I clicked the build button. I saved the image in a folder called toyota on c:\ and named the image toyota.iso. received the pop up You've only selected 1 folder ... does new folder represent the root directory for the image content? I clicked yes. and the toyota.iso file was created with another file called toyota.mds
Nero's "burn image to disc" option is what I used to copy toyota.iso. I selected Data DVD added toyota.iso, clicked next, current drive /options and selected dvd-rom. then clicked the burn button. the burn created a 7.34gb disk with toyota.iso on it. when I put it in the nav slot it is unreadable.
What am I doing wrong? Sorry I'm just not up to speed on double layer dvd burning. Thanks for sticking with me on this.
I got my 6.1 maps working with the v5 LOADING.KWI file. I tested the DVD, and it works.
But I still can't access the menu. I figure I need to get the Navi to get the new firmware.
So I was reading about pulling fuses, but which fuse? My manual doesn't list anything other than the fuse box locations. I don't really want to disconnect the battery.

there are no fuses to pull ... disconnect the negative terminal on you battery for a few minutes & reconnect ... when you turn the car on, the navi unit will reload the firmware from the dvd ... have your new burned dvd in the drive & it will reload the old firmware!

...This may mean that with the older firmware you might not be able to get SAT radio (that would be my first gusss) or other things added to the 07. Since I am not going to get SAT radio, I went ahead and did this and will run it until such a time as other solutions are found for the newer firmware. Hope this helps anyone else trying to do this.
That makes no sense at all ... if i chose to pay for SAT radio, i could get it as an option on my 07 XLE w/ nav ... build date 03/06 ... originally w/ v5.1 firmware, so this poit is discredited!

Well I am happy to see I DID IT!!!!!!!!! The disk works GREAT. Thanks Black88MX6 you were a great help!
I will let you know about the SAT radio, as this is the next thing I am having installed. I hope I can have the best of both worlds.
No need to thank me for the file or for giving you the procedure & telling everyone what to do!

This is what you are doing wrong, you are not using the burn image option. You DO NOT COPY the ISO file to a new DVD and burn it. With the Burn Image option the ISO will create the full DVD for you with the burn, no other steps are needed. You need to be sure you understand this first.

This may be true for the 07 Camery, but in late 07 they introduce SAT to several other models that didn't have it before with the 5.1 DVD. This includes the 07 Sienna which I have. Considering other cars that this is an option on, we just don't know what we removed functionality wise with going backwards. You didn't mention this, and since you don't have the source code you will not know. BTW, thanks for helping start this.

Just a heads up, your procedure about using NERO is only partially right, as Nero will NOT create a UFD/ISO 9660 DVD version 3. This has created a lot of confusion, and a lot of expensive costers.
