My friend has a 2002 Camry that has frost forming on the the inside of the windshield during these single digit temperatures we're having now in Michigan. The car is kept outside both at home and at work. Ice forms when the vehicle is driven and parked outside during very cold weather. She's had this problem since the vehicle was purchased and the selling dealer couldn't find anything wrong. A different dealer couldn't find anything wrong yesterday. Does anyone have a clue what this could be?
Could just be that since cold causes things to shrink, no pun intended, the door seals are not sealing properly and some of the moisture is getting inside the car. I would try to put some Damprid in the car to soak up the excess moisture and maybe use chap stik all around the door seals to seal better in the colder temperatures. Just a guess really since I'm in Florida and out coldest morning was today, got into the 30's.
Just make sure that the air recirc is open to allow outside air in. If the car is sealed up tight, the moisture from the humans inside will raise the humidity and permit the icing when it hits the dew point in the car.

Don't you guys read your feakin' operators manuals for your cars?? Says right in the manual what to do about that. Like gdanaher says...take it OFF recirculating air and put on the front defrost full blast. Also, you might want to turn on the A/C for a minute or two as that will suck even more of the humid air out of the inside of the car. Works like a charm. Believe me I KNOW!! I live in Canada!!!

I believe that starting with the generation 4 Camry the A/C automatically comes on when in the defrost mode.
You might be right, but I think it might be only when on FULL fan speed I believe. Not the lower speeds. I could be wrong though. /mw
Nah, defrost with a/c works with any fan speed. The one weird thing about the fan though is that is usually has a little delay in it like the cars with dual climate control. Doesn't resond instantly to the change in dial.
