Newbie Camry w/ 19's and looking for springs

So, I just purchased a fully loaded '07 Camry XLE and I found some 19's I really like. Knowing that the larger rims will raise the car, I will have no choice but to drop it a little. My questions are:

1. How much can I drop without rubbing?
2. What springs do you suggest for 19's on an '07
3. What kind/size tire should I purchase to maximize comfort and avoid rubbing.

The rim specs are 19 x 8.5 x 114.5

dude youll be ok. i have 18x9 et 45 with 245/45/18, and these are wide! and there ok. if anything you can always add 3mm spacer or 5mm spacers. the tire shop measured my rims and they wre 9.5 =/. but they still fit nevertheless

I'm pretty sure the rims will fit. I'm just concerned about rubbing after the drop. I've been hearing great things about the Eibach springs so I'll probably go with that. I guess it boils down to the right size tire to the perfect drop. What I don't understand is the difference in spring drops. I hear about some that drop 1", 1.2", 1.4"... I'm confused.

I made a mistake on the offset earlier... it's 5x114.3

larger rims will raise your car? not if you go with lower profile tires...

5x114.3 is the bolt pattern, not the offset.

If you didn't order your wheels already, I would recommend a +35mm offset to line up the wheels with your fenders.

Eibach has two line of springs, the pro-kit and the sportline. The only springs Eibach has out for the '07 Camry is the pro-kit that drops 1.0" in the front and 1.4" in the rear.

As for tires I would go with 245/40/19.

Don't know, that's just how Eibach made the drop on springs for the '07 Camry.

If you would like to keep your warranty, you should get the TRD springs and have them installed by your local dealership.

I have 235/35/19s and with sprint springs(which I hate) and I have a bit of room still to play with. I would go with a 40 series tire also.

Chad- what's the problem wth the Sprint springs? Epsilon made a good point about going with the TRD's so I can maintain my warranty. Is it also true that Eibach manufactures TRD springs? (I can't remember where I read that but I'm sure I saw that in a post somewhere)

Sprint springs tend to sag and Eibach = TRD springs and your warranty stays in place with the TRD springs. Hope that helps.

They are just crap, saggy, noisy, bottom up your struts...Just STAY AWAY from that brand, they came out with the springs to lower the Camry 1.75 all around, and that's NOT true, they made 1(ONE) set of spring for all the models, and there is a difference in the front weight of the 4 vs 6 cyl (200 pounds), or the difference in the struts on the XLE vs the SE...I believe they tested (if they ever did such a thing) on a SE 6 cyl, so with the difference in dampening and stiffer struts that the SE have in comparison with the other models, it may work on a SE 6 cyl (I doubt it).
In my case I have an XLE 4 cyl and the car didn't lower even all around, it did 1.75 on the back and 1.25 on the front, it sags, it makes noises, very unsafe on an uneven road at high speeds. The only reason I'm keeping the sprints on my car is because I love the way it looks and I only drive the car 20 miles at day on a very nice road.

Like everybody says EIBACH/TRD are the only ones that will work and lower your car a little bit, and if you have them installed at the dealer you will keep your warranty. I wish some company would make some good adjustable coilcovers to lower the car at least 1.8 or 2 inches all around and be functional and safe. Maybe some day, when companies start thinking outside the box and realize that the Camry is not the old folks family car anymore, then we will have a variety of aftermarket stuff like the Accord does..

Interesting! I have an '07 XLE V6 and I didn't know about how the weight differences will affect certain models. When I normally search for Springs, they generalize for model and year. I assume TRD's will drop it right over 19's regardless?
