2007 Camry LE: Power locks glitch

My power door locks have been working fine ever since I bought the car last summer, until about 2 weeks ago. Some glitches have spontaneously appeared:

1) Automatic locking when the car is moving faster than __mph stopped working.

2) I unlock my doors by key's remote UNlock button, open the driverside door (to get inside) and then close the door. The driverside LOCK button does not work. To get around this problem, I have two options while I'm sitting inside the car:

*use the key's remote lock button while sitting inside.
or
*Open the driverside door (from inside) and close it. This restores the driverside lock button's functionality.




WHat's going on here? Would resetting the ECU by unplugging the battery fix my problems?

I would take it in...let the Dealership "Reset" all things...then it will be on the computer there for any and all future problems. For example if it starts to do it again after your warranty period...

I don't think that unplugging the power is going to do anything, but you can try. It doesn't cost anything. A trip to the dealer in enforce the warranty will be more productive, though less convenient.

can be programmed that way, yes. I didn't like the idea of that when I first took one out for a test drive, but... don't even notice or care anymore.

Yes, when it reaches up to a certain speed it automatically locks all doors.

Or when the transmission is put into Drive, the doors automatically locks. I'm not sure if both can be deactivated though.

Yeah, mines automatically locks all its doors when I put it into drive.

I also have to press the "unlock button" TWICE to unlock all doors vs. once for the driver's side door.

This is weird because my on my friend's SE model, he doesn't need to do that.

Guess, I just gotta read the manual on programming it to my liking lol.

Yeah, there are tons of things I learned when I started looking through the manual.

You are correct, the car default is to automatically lock when the car is put into drive/reverse and to unlock when put into park.

But if the power lock button is not working, then the dealer needs to look at it. The manual does tell you how to turn on/off the auto-lock function. Never heard of being able to change it so all the doors unlok though with just pushing the key fob unlock once. The idea of having to puch it twice is for saftey, so no one can be hiding on the other side of the car ad get in when you unlock it.

When I place mine in gear it locks.
