Gen6 My AC stinks!

I turned on my air conditioner yesterday and it smelled very, very bad. I'm guessing mold. What/Where do I spray to get the smell/mold out of the vents? Or do I need to take it to the dealer for 5 hours to get them to take care of it?

Thanks.

I've got the same problem. Sometimes when I turn on my heater/ac I get a weird smell. I thought it was because of my air filter.

That would be my choice. Let them deal with it. It's what we have a warranty for.

Yeah, but I don't like dropping my car off all day for something I can do in less than 30 minutes. Hell, it takes them 4 hours to change the oil!

Maybe check your Cabin Filter it may be moist and starting to Mildew. Or spray Oust, or Lysol air purifier in the cowl vents with the blower on to clean out the smell and kill any bacteria or mold.

Where are the cowl vents? By the windshield?

Yes, outside below the windshield, Spray disenfectant cleaner in the vents while you have the a/c or heater on high.

BG also makes a product specifically designed to treat this type of problem.
"Frigi-Fresh" - http://www.bgprod.com/products/climatecontrol.html

I used it once on my Nissan with good results.

Good Luck,

The '07 Camry I4 loaner car I was given while mine was in the shop smelled like a whore-on-holiday. But after the heater ran for a while the smell would dissipate and I could smell a hint of mildew. I should have checked to see if it was shipped from Japan or the was U.S. built.

Does anyone know the part# or a website where I can buy a new cabin air filter? I can't find one using google and there is no part# on the filter itself.

Thanks
