03 camry jbl factory radio problems

my parents have a sport edition 03 camry with the jbl cd/tape deck radio that is acting up. the radio works and powers on and off but the cd player will not function. seems a little soon for it to crap out but i have seen stranger things. i looked up troubleshooting in the owners manual and found nothing and just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how one might fix such a problem.

it might be an internal failure in the radio. the motor for pushing out the cd may be dead or something. many things can happen with those. the best thing would be to take it somewhere and have them look at it. preferably not the dealer cuz they'll say "you need a new radio. nowarranty". cuz that's how they work. i know this cuz i work at one, i'm sure akira can relate to this, if he's reading this.

I had mine go bad. 2002 Camry XLE. Fortunately my car was certified and the radio crapped out in the 3 months warrant period so the dealer changed it.

But ebay has these head units for cheaper than dealer and it should be plug & play
