there's no significant difference between ceramic tints and regular film. i have regular. only diff is the price. i've had a good relationship with my tint place for about 4 years now. since they're a detail place too. they did my tint and my lamin-x on my lights as you can see from the sig. we were sittin in there shopa a couple days ago and we were lookiing up the specs on the tint they have and the ceramic tints other places have on their sites. so its no made up stuff but there is really nothing significant that makes it more worth it. research it and u'll see.

EDIT: my place uses solargard. which is an italian company. its good stuff, the 20% actually looks darker and alot of people think i have 5 cuz of the darkness. had it for 2 yrs so far and its never faded at all. or bubbled or peeled. the quality of the tint and the look also depends on the tinter. whether they're pro or not.

Mine is metallic tint, by Llumnar, great stuff. Had it on both my '07 Camry SE V6 and my old '97 Nissan Altima SE. Everyone says don't get it because it will mess with your radio antenna... but I've never had a problem.

There is a big difference. MOst metallic tints have a higher relfective percentage(although it might nt be significantly higher). Non metallic n the other hand have lower percentage of light transmission. BAsically what it boils down to is what you are looking for. They are completely different and serve different purposes. So you can't say they are exactly the same. If you were to live in a warm climate with not so harsh suns i would go for the non metallic and well yu get the idea with metallic since its more reflective. Other than that...most tint films are provided by the same manufacturer s realistically, they are all the same tint with different final touches. Like i said earlier...it jsut matters how you want your car to look. Some people like the non metallic look(BLACK tint), or the metallic, whihc varies.

yea man. i'm not saying they're totally the same. mirror tint does have its benefits such as reflection of light. But alot of states, having mirror tint is illegal. Plus you stand out like MAD with mirror tint just cuz of the reflection.

^mirror tint is almst illegal everywhere...metallic tint is legal wherever tint is legal. Mirror tint is completely different. Its almost the same grade as colored tint. Metallic is considered by solar gard as the quantam series. Llumar has the pp series...i believe there is just a big misunderstadning between tints. the metallic tint i am tlking about is refferred to by many as high performance tint...where as what i think you are talking about is straight up mirror tint

3M or Llumar.
I have 3m Colorstable, garanteed for life, not to turn purple and it is non-metallic, do some reasearch online.
Solarguard is not bad, but I prefered 3M. it looks good too. If you get solaruard make sure it is the one with lifetime warranty for color and fading.

matalic tint has a little but more reflectivity then regular. but they dont turn purple like regular. and they do mess with radio reception. i had regular tint on and got good but not great radio reception. i put on the semi matelic tint i dont even get one station. i have a inertnal window anttena

that is a pic of matelic...

now a pic of farther away

now a pic of a non matelic

now the color is hig reflectivity becasue it is overcast adn the matlic reflects the glomy look out side on the window

sorry to post whore

..we use LLUMAR @ my place also great stuff....as for the metallic tint, the interference is not to the radio antenna, but to other antennas I-N-S-I-D-E the vehicles, like GPS, cell phone, portables, etc....LLUMAR is comming out with a new version that does not cause interference...
