Who has had a reflare problem with the NEW transaxle (TSB 002-07)??
Who still has the reflare problem with the new transaxle replacement (TSB 002-07)?? I am just trying to find out if the fix actually has solved the issue. If you still have the problem, please indicate your vehicle's build date, miles after reflare, and the tranxale number received. Thanks.
This thread is meant to help prospective and current owners, giving them some hope of Toyota's ability to resolve issues. So thank you in advance.

My transmission flared a few days after I picked my car up with the new tranny. It was put in on 12/4. My vehicle build date is 8/06 Kentucky. I don't know the transaxle no. that I received. Where can I find it.
As a matter of fact it flared last Thurs. I don't know if I am beginning to have a new problem, but I noticed sometimes it takes a while to shift from 2nd to 3rd on a cold start. I can actually feel the strain when I press the accelerator and the car does not shift.
well i have a receipt showing that work was performed... I also was under my hood the other day (investigating a whistle coming from my intake tract, that i later realized was coming from inside my dash... meaning they f'ed up a vaccum hose inside the dash) and could see the top of the transaxle, it was bright shiny new aluminum, so either i got a new transmission, or they pulled out my old one, fixed it, then cleaned it in an acid bath before putting it back in. (my tranny failed completely so i am fairly certain they replaced it)
No significant flare yet. small flares of 300rpm or less have occured, but i'm willing to accept some flare in the name of smooth shifting, rather than absolutely no flare and abrupt shifts.

Midnight2,
I thought the TSB 002-07 came out after 1/18/07 or something. But your replace tranny more than a month before that date. May be you should bring your car back to the dealer with the TSB02-007 print out???
The transmission part number should be listed on the receipt that they gave you. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that they put a new one in, I know.
Mine had part 30510-33530 listed on the receipt. Also, had they released the new transmission in December??

I thought so to. When the new TSB came out I called the service manager and he said I had the new replacement tranny. I have even taken the car back again and....

I guess they did not apply the new TSB 002-07 on your car yet. since the problem still exist, ask them to fix the tranny again. Hopefully they will apply the new TSB 002-07.

I took my car back and they said there is nothing than can be done to fix it.
the "flares" i have are tiny, and not just on the 3-4 shift...
so i'd not really call them flares, 'cause it doesn't feel like the tranny slips, rpms just climb a little between shifts, nothing to be worried about IMO.
