Thanks for the reply,Trogan
I have been never much of a Subaru guy.
Although it's a solid vehicle,we're not crazy about the station wagon look of a Forester.
I definitely know what you mean. Subaru has always left much to be desired in terms of looks for all their models. I didn't become a fan of theirs until I test drove their Forester and Legacy GT (way too fast for my liking). My wife said it almost feels like a v6 since it packs a lot of punch in terms of acceleration and torque. But very fun cars to drive. The only gripe I have with their boxer engines is that they don't run as quiet and smooth as the Toyotas do.
FYI...I recently purchased an 07 Rav 4 Limited 4 x 4 with the 4cyl. I got a rock bottom price from a local dealer by using the internet for price quotes. I strongly suggest for anyone looking to purchase from a dealer to do the same.
My wife and I think the Rav 4 is a tremendous value. For us the 4cly offers up more than adequate performance. It's no slug by any stretch. We looked into the new CRV, Element, Outlander, Torrent, and Equinox and overall the Toyota Rav 4's value was impossible to ignore. It rides nice for an SUV, versatlie storage options, and even the basic Limited is pretty well loaded when it comes to accessories and toys.
My wife is very particular and even she's impressed. We traded in a 1999 Sienna, don't need the extra capacity any more, and currently own an 02 Camry SE.

Hope this helps.
I wound up buying a certified silver 4X4 '06 Sport 4 cyl with 6500 miles.
Very happy with it.
Like you said the 4 cyl is adequate and I find the biggest surprise is how roomy it is.
I alss love the look of the 18" tires and wheels on the sport and the black interior which is rare today.
The wife loves it so much better than the '05 Explorer we had.
The only thing I dislike is the radio with 6 disc changer which is actually an option.
The sound quality is fair.
Too much cheap bass even when bass is adjusted low.
You probably have the JBL system.

I couldn't agree with you more about the standard stereo setup. I have been able to monkey around with the tone controls and get it to where it sounds pretty good for the most part. Not in the same league as the JBL in our Camry. A speaker upgrade, which I believe would remedy the sound issues, may be in the cards down the road.
JoeB,
Congratulations on the purchase. I am always amazed when you can run across a near new car with low mileage like that. Unless it was coming off a short lease you just have to wonder what the previous owner was thinking about.

Thanks.
Actually it was a demo which doesn't make me feel great.
However a 6500 mile trade-in would make me feel worse.
I know it's not a trade-in as I'm the first owner according to a Carfax and title symbol.
Thanks.

I hear ya about a "Demo". I have second thooughts of my Demo lately. hehe.
Still, you have a nice litte ute. Thay are pretty roomy. New speakers might just help you on the sound system. When my Sister test drove a Sport and then a Limited it was night & day with the JBL. I believe they have 9 speakers including the sub on the back door.
Did ya beat em' up on price? I am sure you did...
Does it have AWD or 4WD?

OD,tough to beat a Toyota dealer on a certified RAV4 Sport 4X4 when they only have one used RAV4 in stock.
It was the color(silver) Sport we wanted and only 6500 miles so we bit.
Did ok I guess as I know the sales manager and bought a few cars off him including the Camry.
Asking prices are ridiculous on '06'Sports even 12-15K miles on them..
Paid $21300 withToyota remote start and got a good price on my Explorer trade.
In fact the RAV is at the dealer now getting it installed.
The RAV4 is the wife's vehicle and she's not complaining about the sound system so stock it will stay.

They never do....complain. They only complain when WE want to upgrade to something cool. hehe! My wife still jaws at me about the Sat-Radios I had installed.
"I don't see why we had to get these...the Camry has a 6 CD changer...."
After a while they start to sound like Dino the Dinosaur on the Flintstones...
"yip...yip...yip...YipYipYipYip....!!!!"
