Go to the dealership is good idea. I enjoy my nav and I'm really happy I bought mine.

There is nothing to do with the aftermarket. Plug it into the cig lighter, it suctions to the windshield and your done.

Virus: Your 234 example is due to preference settings and the fact that most NAV systems will give priority to interstates unless told otherwise. I live in the same area as you and have the NAV in my Camry.

As for the POI, you need to change the setting for 'closest POI' or something like that. I used to have the same problem. Spend some time sitting in the car with the manual.

234 Bypass is on the DVD and it will route it, by the way. Check out the 'Route' menus.

I will give it a try. I looked in the route preferences. Should I turn highways off in order for it to choose the bypass?

Yes...I have to do it often. It is also one of the controls that can be changed while in motion.

Will it save my preferences? If not that would be a nice addition for next years software release.

It does. It will stay with the options you set until you change them or disconnect the battery.

Awesome. I'll give that a try. So far the two things I mentioned were the things that bugged me the most. There are many things that I love about the system. For instance the restaurant, gas and bank icons. Very useful when traveling with the family. I'm still not a fan of the POI listings and it not listing the mileage to each dest.
