5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
First let's get down to the good news, because there is a LOT of this.
1) The insurance and body shop agreed upon some quote thing. I am getting a brand new roof, hood, interior headliner and sunroof. Those are obviously going to be painted. So I'm getting all new parts - nothing will be "straightened" or "fixed", but instead replaced.
2) My insurance policy is up for renewal this early April, and today the new papers came in. The rate REMAINS the same. Even if they choose to hike my rate, since I already have the official documents and papers, they can only this from April 2008, which is awesome!
3) Work began on my car today. Tomorrow I should hear what the status is on the replacement parts. I was told that the roof may need to be back-ordered which would delay the whole process. But I don't care - I want them to do the right job. Their estimate is 2 weeks, but I think 3-4. That's fine, I have another car to drive meanwhile.
4) I will be KEEPING the Camry!!!

Thanks Epsilon. We got this cottage in 2004. It's been the ultimate getaway both during the winter and summer. It's 2 minutes from a major ski resort in the area (Horseshoe Valley). Also we have about 15 maple trees on the property. During the summer, it can be 45 Celsius with the humidity in downtown Toronto. We like to retreat to the cottage where it's a constant shade with cooler air.

Yes, 100% right. The ONLY reason why the Camry wasn't parked in the garagehouse that night was because we were using one half for drying this large carpet. On the other side, the ML was parked. I parked the Camry sort of underneath the house roof because we've had branches fall from the trees. Yet, I see now that I should have been much less afraid of a branch compared to a snow/ice glacier.
From now, DO or DIE, the Camry will be parked in the garagehouse. Back home in Toronto, our condo has an underground concrete garage. A nice bunker to protect from anything. We own two spots down there, so there Camry always has its own reserved place of safety.

I'd sell the car and get another one after it's fixed, but that's just me. I'd never ever feel safe in a car that had sustained roof damage and been repaired.
