firstly, i know what ALL of you are gonna say... this thread is worthless without pics!! i know i know...but i couldnt get a clear pic b/c it was exiting towards laguardia(for you locals) and i was in the second to left lane on the GCP.. and i tried to take a pic and almost got into an accident lol... i would have followed it if i didnt have to go to school! but yea, just wondering if anyone else has seen this? it was pretty cool if i must say so myself..
This is actually old news for us TCH owners. Lots of cities are giving all kinds of tax breaks to taxi companies who use hybrids. NYC got it's first TCH taxi in summer 06, last time I looked (during the fall 2006) there were 2 TCH's issued T&LC medallions, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few more went into service since then.

Nothing new here. In the downtown core here in Toronto, I've seen several Camry Hybrids. They are a much better choice than the Prius they use in NYC.
There is no headroom in the rear of the Prius. At 6' 1", just by sitting in the back, my head was touching the headliner. I can only imagine what will happen when you go over a bump...
It's a no-brainer for taxi companies to use hybrid cars. Back in the late-90s, many cars went to natural gas, but that fuel is no longer visibly cheaper than the regular gas.

I've seen Sienna, Highlander, and RX 330 Taxi's, but not Camry, or even Prius.
I seen a Hybird Prius NYC Taxi during the summer. it actually rolled into my mechanic shop cause his other personal car was getting worked on and he was checking the progress of it. But i haven't seen a Camry Taxi
