5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Since no aftermarket lowering springs have been made for the Camry Hybrid, and everyone that has tried putting in the TRD/Eibach springs have ended up removing them due to rear-end sag, I've decided to try a lower cost alternative. I'm going to see if the factory SE springs will hold the hybrid weight. I won't get the fully lowered look that I want, but at least it will drop an inch from factory spec.
So if you have a Gen6 SE-V6 and have installed TRD/Eibach and are looking to sell your factory springs, let me know. I'm n ot interested in SE-I4 springs simply because of the weight of the car, I need springs that are designed to hold as much weight as possible.
I was still waiting for your side picture to see if your car had any droop in the rear end. Yours is the only TCH I know of that is still running TRD springs.

Someone on Ebay is selling a set of SE Springs. Don't know if its off of an I-4 or V6. I'd ask him. He's not selling it for much either. Here's the link:

If that link doesn't work, it is eBay Auction Item Number: 230103873424
Good luck. Hope this info helps.
Actually, I saw that ad and it's what gave me this idea in the first place. The price of the item isn't too bad, but the shipping cost is ridiculous, this item shouldn't cost more than $15 to ship. I was hoping to get a better deal from someone in here that has no use for their factory springs. Win-Win for both of us.

Well, this install did not result in what I was hoping for. i installed the SE springs into my hybrid, and the rear got lowered by 1/2" which is what I was hoping for, but the front actually got raised by 1/2".
In this other thread about TRD springs, Epsilon suggested installing TRD springs in the front and SE springs in the rear: Heres the beginning of my mod-ography
I don't know much about springs, but I thought it was dangerous to install springs that were not matched together. Isn't the geometry of the suspension changed if you install different front and rear springs? Especially with stiffer springs in the front, isn't the car going to drive really loose? Or does it not matter since this is a FWD car?
If this is not a dangerous option, then I might install TRD in the front and leave the SE in the rear.
Any advice would be helpful!
