5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So, I start up my car today and I notice the "MAINT REQ" light flash at me a couple times and then go dark. So I think... hmm... thats odd. Maybe it was a freak thing. So, i drive a bit, get to the day care to drop off my kid. Get back into the car, start it up, and then "flash flash.." Now im pretty much mad. My new 07 is flashin MAINT REQ at me and I have no idea why.
LOL....... I call the service manager (and im kinda purturbed) and explain to him whats up. He asks me about my mileage and sure enough...... it was the dummy "hey retard change your oil" light. I changed my oil the weekend prior and I wasnt aware of this warning light. So, I reset the light (per the instructions in the manual) and now im happy. The end.
Cliffs Notes:
There is a warning light in the dash that comes on after so many miles. Reset the light when you change your oil. Dont be a retard like me and get mad about it.

Yes that would be logical, but nobody does it. The manual is hundreds of pages long, and there are many parts written in that terrible lawyer-speak way.

Well, at least you didn't not put the gas cap on all the way and freak out because the check engine light came on...lol.

I had a similar situation on Wednesday. I recently put SE rims on my LE Camry and I filledup the tires to 44psi (45psi max) I assumed I was safe. Guessed wrong! I took it in and after 90 minutes they tell me that you can't take the tire pressure above 35psi or the tire pressure sensors will go off! WTF!?!?

BS!!
There is nothing in the service manual that says that and I run mine at 36 psi with no lights.

Try reading a Caddy Manual, it's written by a 3rd grader that has sentence structure issues.

Why the fuck would posess you to put 44psi in a tire when 32 (+/- a little on car) is said in the manual?
