Gen5 Pic Request. 16" rims on Gen 5

Anyone have custom (or stock) 16" wheels on their gen 5 that they would care to show? Everyone seems to think that anything under 18" looks horrible on a camry but i would like to see pics to judge for myself. I do about 100km per day of stop and go city driving in a city with absolutely horrible roads full of cracks potholes. I'm looking for a good balance of performance and looks but something practical and dont want to spend $1000+ on new wheels and tires if they are going to look shitty on my car. Any help is appreciated.

if you drive on those kinds of roads everyday, i would try and keep away from aftermarket bigger rims.. i have the stock 16" alloys on my SE and i drive in the city here in ny and for the most part its a comfortable ride.. i

Thanks for the pics. 16" doesnt look so bad. I have my eyes on these rims with Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires. Not sure if this style of rim would look good in 16" tho

Someone in my town is also selling these in 17" at a pretty good price w/new tires. not sure i like how they look tho...

I say go for 17's. Here is a picture of the factory 17's on my '05 SE. Ride quality is very good, and there is still plenty of sidewall so you don't have to worry about potholes and stuff like that.

g

Hope this helps,

-Joe

Very Nice SE man. Yeah, 17" looks like the best-looking size for a Camry. Maybe if i get a good luxury tire rather than performance tires i wont have so much of an issue with harshness and road noise?.....

I'm a full-time university student and drive a taxi to pay my tuition/living expenses. my only problem is that I use my camry as a taxi when i'm working and as a personal car when I'm not. My taxi rooflight just sticks on the roof with magnets and comes off, and my company doesnt require me to paint my car yellow or put the company logo on or anything so its just pretty much a normal car with the rooflight off. I dont know if bigger wheels are going to destroy my suspension with the wear and tear of cab driving especially when i get like 5 or 6 passengers crammed into my car.

How much you wanna spend?

Sorry to get off topic. If you're using the car as a taxi you might want to stick with 16's, but for me, personally, I'd still role on 17's if my car was a taxi.
